Your HOA was created by the original developer in a document generally called "Declarations" or "the Restrictions". This document 'declares' that the HOA
will now exist. It covers many topics, but the most important one to most homeowners deal with how the use of the land is 
restricted; that is why most
people call them "the Restrictions".
Governing documents are filed and recorded with the county clerk's office in order to be valid, per Texas law. The HOA's governing documents are posted here
as a courtesy to members of the Association, and in accordance with the Texas Property Owners' Protection Act.
